DeFabrique is the venue for events for 50 to 3,500 people. The old mixed food factory offers room for the organisation of your exhibition, congress or party.
An industrial property with modern facilities
The characteristic atmosphere of DeFabrique forms the decor for your event. The modern facilities guarantee a quality event.
The DeFabrique team has over ten years of experience in arranging and organising your event.
In the 1920s, Ulbe Twijnstra began with what has now become the industrial multi-purpose venue DeFabrique.
Construction of the factory
A modern factory was built in 1921 for pressing linseed oil and the production of cattle cakes. After the war, the factory was converted to produce oil from copra, the dried fruit of the coconut palm. In 1962, the factory stopped with the production of the oil and concentrated entirely on producing mixed feeds.
The origin of DeFabrique
In 1996, the production was shifted to Deventer and the factory stood still. Krijnie and Jan van Eck took over the factory and refurnished it as a multi-purpose complex under the name ‘DeFabrique’.
Krijnie and Jan saw in the property with its pleasant rooms a wonderful opportunity to preserve a bit of history and cherish its authentic character. Each room has been lovingly restored and has its own history.
Professional multi-purpose organisation
DeFabrique took shape quickly. One event a week soon became three, and 30 guests soon became 100. At this moment, DeFabrique is one of the most frequented multi-purpose venues in the country.
